Shocked footballer sent off for urinating on field

When you gotta go – you gotta go.
That was the unfortunate lesson learnt by a footballer in Peru, who was given a straight red card for urinating on the side of the field.
During a medical break to attend to the opposition goalkeeper, Atletico Awajun striker Sebastian Munoz was set up to take a corner, but the delay went on longer than expected.

The striker turned away from the field, facing an area without spectators, and relieved himself.

But players from Cantorcillo FC alerted the referee to what Munoz was doing.
Without hesitation, the whistle-blower ran over to the dumbfounded player and showed him a red card.
Munoz protested his innocence, perhaps that he was also engaging in a medical break of his own, but the referee wasn’t buying whatever excuse Munoz dished up.
Peruvian football officials and the club are yet to comment on Munoz’s alleged actions.
Atletico Awajun play in the third division and are involved in play-offs for the Copa Peru.
It’s not the first time a footballer has relieved themselves while on the field.
In 2017, Salford keeper Max Crocombe was sent off for urinating during a National League North match against Bradford in the UK.

Mansfield forward Adi Yussuf was handed a fine and a five-game ban after peeing at the back of a stand while his side played in a League Two clash against Plymouth in 2016.
While playing for Stuttgart in 2009, former Gunners gloveman Jens Lehmann jumped over the hoardings to urinate and returned just in time to stop an opposition attack.
And England legend Gary Lineker defecated on the pitch during a 1990 World Cup match against Ireland, in one of the most embarrassing moments ever endured on a sporting field.
He reportedly went into the opening match of the tournament with an illness but did not tell the coaching staff.
